English Binders Scored

Today we graded our English binders using the rubric presented to each student earlier this week. There were 56 possible points for the final binder check. After finishing with the binders, we had our final Writing Workshop Day for this semester. That means that there will be no additional class writing time for students to finish any of the three writing assignments required for this grading period. All writing must be turned in by next Wednesday, so if you haven’t finished all of your writing, you will have to do the work as homework.

My life has taken many paths. I grew up in Farmland, Indiana and graduated from Monroe Central High School in 1979. Yes I know that seems like a long time ago to most of you. After I graduated from High School, I went into the U. S. Navy. Not a lot of women enlisted in the Navy back then. Boot camp was still segregated (that means there were only women in my boot camp) and yes, boot camp is as bad as they say it is. I survived though and began seeing a little more of the world than just our lovely corn and soy bean fields of Indiana. I was an advanced avionics technician and worked on F14 Tomcat jets in the Navy. Back then women couldn't go on ships but I was stationed in Bermuda for a little over a year. Bermuda is beautiful and the people are warm and friendly. I married my husband while in the Navy and we eventually moved to Minnesota.

    I don’t really think that checking our English binder for a grade is good. The English binders are supposed to be for our use aren’t they?

    Hello Mrs.Scales how are you doing? Well i just wanted to try this out lol i think its really koolo but i just wanted to just say that im reading the 2nd book of the tears of tiger serious i think that it is like my favorite book ever!!!!! well i got to go i will coment later maybe!. 🙂
